Joyce Foster Wins 70% of County Assembly Vote

DENVER – Former Denver City Council President and Colorado Senate District 35 Democratic candidate, Joyce Foster, won 70 percent of the votes at Saturday’s Denver County Democratic Party Assembly and Convention.

“I am humbled, honored and thrilled,” Foster said. “People are responding to my message about staying positive and bringing constituents together to collaboratively tackle such important issues as access to quality, affordable healthcare for all Coloradans; K-12 and higher education financing; economic development; transportation and infrastructure needs.

“I have a long history of working for and with the people of this district,” Foster said. “They know and trust me. We’ve worked together on SE I-25 Light Rail and Highway Expansion Project, University Hills Shopping Center, the Denver Youth Skate Park, Reopening Slavens and Southmoor as K-8 public schools and so many other recent challenges.”

Colorado Senate Majority Leader Senator Ken Gordon, a staunch Foster advocate, introduced her at Saturday’s packed Assembly at the Colorado Convention Center.

“People understand that what they get with Joyce is a positive, effective, responsive problem solver,” said Gordon. She works well with others, is respectful and brings people together. During her 10 years on Denver City Council, Joyce was highly effective. After a combined 16 years in the legislature, I know what it takes to be effective. By that measure, it isn’t even close – Joyce Foster is our most effective candidate.”
